Mindful Eating in a Nutshell


Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) is designed to address all forms of “mindless” eating through the application of mindfulness, cognitive and behavioral science including: stress-related eating, emotional eating, binge eating, disordered eating patterns and obesity. 

Research has found that “how” you eat using mindfulness can have a more positive and lasting effect on your health than simply focusing on “what” you eat. Mindful Eating is a practice that allows you to revolutionize your relationship with food. Cultivating awareness of your present moment experience, along with the focused awareness building practices in our program, can increase your enjoyment of food, enhance taste satisfaction and help you learn to tune into your body cues related to eating such as hunger, stomach fullness and body satiety. 

You’ll experience a new attunement with your body as you learn how to differentiate between physical and non-physical hunger triggers, such as emotions, thoughts and environment with kindness and nonjudgement, helping to guide your choices to those of balance, flexibility and wisdom.

The weekly classes puts an emphasis on guided mindfulness and mindful eating practices and combine this with teachings, class discussion, sharing and self-reflective exercises.
